    A Vantage score goes to 950. A Vantage score of 530 IS really poor. On the Vantage scale she has to raise her score to close to 800 to be considered "decent".

    She needs to change her way of thinking.
    - She will not be purchasing a house in the next 2 years, unless she dramatically changes her income level (must have more than 20% cash for down payment). In 5 years she can considering it, if she continue to damage her credit history
    - She needs to learn to live in a cash world – if she have cash to pay for it, she get it.
    - For the time being, she needs to focus on NOT accumulating anymore negative marks on her credit. Pay all her bills on time. She has 8 student loans (4 deffered & 4 negative) that are going to come due when she finishes school, is she prepared to pay for them
    - Attempting to remove the double is meaningless. She has so much bad credit that even if it was removed, it would change her score next to nothing.
    - In 3-4 years if she has been paying all her loans as agreed, she can begin looking into ways to actually begin using credit again – secure credit card, etc.

  4. Sorry but your mother is in the wrong. She is destroying your credit and I get a sense she has taken out other loans in your name. That would account for the companies you have never heard of. Talk to your Dad, this must be handled immediately and not delayed till mom feels less stress.
